An air circulator fan is built to move air in a focused stream across a room rather than to give a wide, gentle breeze. Most are small, sit on a floor or table and tilt up or down. It is worth reading the airflow figure, the speed count, the size and the noise number before you choose.
The six fans below come from Vornado, DREO, Honeywell and Amazon Basics. Figures come from each product’s listing page and are the makers’ own. Some pages show airflow numbers that do not line up between models, and we point those out. We have not used these fans ourselves, and we promise no cooling result.

What to Look For

| Speeds | Three or four steps suit most rooms |
| Size and mount | Floor, table or wall mounting changes where it fits |
| Noise | Listed in dB by the maker, not measured by us |
| Cleaning | A removable grille is easier to wipe |

A medium floor fan with three speeds, an adjustable tilt head and 9 inch blades, measuring 8.25 x 12 x 13.6 inches. The listing shows 52 dB, 50 W and 1,120 CFM, but the larger 660 lists only 584 CFM, so treat the CFM as unverified.

A table fan with three speeds, a 120 degree tilt and the option to mount on a wall. The maker lists 70 ft of airflow, 800 CFM, 25 dB and 35 W. The title says 12 inches but the specs list 7 inch blades, and two dimension sets appear on the page, so read the size line before ordering.

Placement and Care
- Aim the fan along a wall or toward a corner so air travels around the room.
- Unplug before wiping the grille.
- Dust blades with a dry or barely damp cloth.
- Keep cords clear of walkways.
Mistakes to Avoid
- Comparing CFM figures across different brands as if they were equal.
- Ignoring the stated size and weight.
- Putting the fan where it blocks a doorway.
- Expecting a fan to lower the room temperature.
Air Circulator Fan FAQ
How is an air circulator different from a regular fan?
Makers describe a circulator as moving air in a focused stream across a room, while a standard fan spreads a wider, softer breeze.
Do these fans oscillate?
None of the six listings here describe an oscillating feature. They use a tilt or pivot head.
