Corner and edge protectors are small adhesive guards that cover the hard corners of a coffee table. Parents often put them on a table before a baby starts to crawl or walk. They come in clear plastic and soft foam, as individual corner caps or as a long edge strip. They are not a substitute for supervision, and they cannot make a table safe.

The six products below cover corner caps, edge strips and kits. Materials, counts and sizes come from each product’s listing page. We have not installed or tested these products and make no safety claims; any safety statements are the makers’ own. Check the shape of your table before you buy, because round or curved edges need a different protector than a square corner.

Installation Tips

  • Clean the surface with alcohol and let it dry before sticking.
  • Press firmly and hold for the time the label says.
  • Test on a hidden spot; adhesive can mark some finishes.
  • Check the guards from time to time and replace any that peel.

Mistakes to Avoid

  • Assuming guards make a table safe on their own.
  • Putting adhesive on a delicate finish without testing.
  • Using corner caps on round edges.
  • Leaving a loose guard in place; small parts can be a hazard.

Corner Protector FAQ

Do corner protectors work on glass?

Clear caps can be used on glass edges. Check the maker’s guidance.

Will the adhesive damage my table?

It can on some finishes. Test first.

Are they enough for a crawling baby?

They cushion corners but are only one part of a child-safe room. Follow the maker’s and pediatric guidance.
